Steven Denney is a licensed home builder who builds and remodels homes in and around the Birmingham area. Steven started his construction career in 1997 and achieved success with well-known commercial general contracting companies such as Brice Building Company and Golden Construction (now known as Creature).
After spending 20 years in the commercial construction industry, Steven became a certified NCCER building construction instructor with a local trade school called the Academy of Craft Training (ACT). He taught residential and commercial carpentry for seven years covering subjects such as blueprint reading, estimating, construction layout/surveying, rough framing, trim work, and many other aspects of construction. For Steven, getting to see his students receive job offers in the construction industry after finishing the ACT program was the most rewarding part.
Along with being a certified NCCER instructor in construction, Steven holds a certification in a four-year carpenter apprenticeship program from Brice Building Company, a certification in the AGC supervisor training program, 30hr OSHA training certification, as well as a B.A. in Philosophy and Biblical Studies from Southeastern Bible College. He has given presentations on the topic of using 2D and 3D building models for construction layout at the Auburn University School of Building Science, the University of Alabama School of Engineering, and the Lawson State Building Construction Program.
